Observation to Abstraction Qualities of Light

Wednesday 7^th July and Wednesday 14^th July, 10am – 12pm

This online course will run over 2 workshops in July. The focus will be on qualities of light in artworks and will explore a journey from observational drawing towards creating your own more abstract works of art considering light and colour. Studying a range of artists both historic and contemporary, and considering concepts and techniques, Charlie will guide you through experimental drawing and painting exercises to explore the ideas and themes discussed. These will include inspiration taken from the natural world, the figure, chiaroscuro, abstract painting and more.

Basic drawing and painting materials will be required and the workshops will be delivered live on zoom.
